This post won’t include the basics like a kid’s seat or snacks! Instead, it will pack the stuff you haven’t even thought of!
Road Trip Ready: Packing Essentials for Your Next Adventure
1. Travel Cup
The very first thing you need on your road trip is an insulated cup that will keep your drink cold for hours so you won’t have to stop every time you’re thirsty.
2. Backpack
This one can be a controversy but we believe it’s the best way to keep everything organized on a road trip. Pack your computer, chargers, and everything else you need close by in a backpack and grab it when you need it. This helps prevent it from falling under the seat or having to stop to grab it from the trunk.
3. Travel Tech Organizer
Just like the backpack, you want to keep your technology organized on any long trip!
4. kindle
Kindles are perfect for the book lovers out there! You can download the books so you can read them in the car without any trouble. Plus it doesn’t have the glare from the sun.
5. Jumper Cables
You don’t want to be stuck somewhere on the side of the road waiting for someone to help. So if you are traveling with someone close by get some jumper cables in your car. If not, we recommend having triple-A saved in your phone.
6. first aid kit
This is another safety precaution we believe you should take for your road trip. You won’t want to stop at a Wallgreens or hospital for a cute.
7. sunscreen
Just because your in a car does not mean you are protected from the sun so get that sunscreen packed!
8. paper towels
Paper towels are a must-have on a road trip for unexpected spills and messes, or for a quick bite to eat.

For the same reason you need sunscreen, you also want sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun all day.
10. travel pillow
Every road trip needs to have a pillow. Either for sleeping or giving your back some cushion.
11. umbrella
You’re going to be in the car for hours and you will most likely drive/be in the rain. So go ahead and pack an umbrella in case it rains when you want to explore a town.
12. small blanket
You need to bring a blanket on a road trip to get comfy and make sure everyone gets their beauty sleep.
13. car phone chargers

16. soft cooler
One way to save money on a road trip is to pack your own snacks and drinks! Don’t stop every time your hungry and just buy a cooler!
17. travel journal
You’re going on a road trip for a reason so turn it into an adventure by documenting the whole experience.
18. rain jackets
Always pack a jacket for a long drive and just put it in the back seat. You can bring any jacket, we just love this one from North Face.
19. roadside Emergency kit
Just because it probably won’t happen doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take it seriously. Pack this emergency kit and put the worries away.
20. emergency car escape Tool
This is another safety device that breaks the windows and seat belts fast and easily.
21. Car phone mount
Don’t take the risk of crashing just because you have to grab your phone every time to look at the maps.
22. car eating tray
Sometimes (or most) you are going to get fast food so get these car eating trays and actually enjoy the food and give your feet a break.
