The best way to plan for the perfect college class schedule is to be prepared. Write down everything you want to achieve that school term or year.
Below we will go over the steps to talk to plan your college class schedule right.
1. Write down what you need to do and what you want to do
Knowing what you want to do and need to do are two very different things and you should know them.
For instance, do not prioritize taking a French class just because you want to – not that you need to. Instead, first prioritize your math class and schedule that class during the best time in the week for you.
2. Write Down Your Goals
Writing down your goals is a great way to stay accountable to yourself throughout the school year.
Everyone needs a little motivation to get through classes. Knowing your goals can give you a reminder and a push.

3. Do not take classes before 10 AM
Everyone and your mom will tell you this. Do. Not. Take. Classes. Before. 10 am.
Respectfully, even if you are a morning person do not make the mistake of taking classes before 10 am in your first semester or even year.
A big lesson you will learn in your first semester is your time management skills need a little help. After the first term or year, if you feel you would do better taking a morning class, do it. But give it a few months first.
4. Be Aware Of The Nights You Are Going Out
Most colleges will have parties on Wednesdays all the way through Sunday. Figure out what days you are not willing to go out and what days you are.
Schedule accordingly.

5. Figure Out Your Class Days
College schedules are set up either on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Pro tip: the first-year students sign up for classes last so most Tuesday and Thursday classes will be full.
6. Decide When You Want Your Classes
Do you want your classes together or separated throughout the day?
Most college students will want their schedule to be packed from 10 am – 4 pm every MWF. However, I prefer mine separated to go get lunch or study in-between classes.
You need to decide what your strengths are and your preferences for this.
7. Schedule Time For Yourself
Many first-year students forget to schedule time for themselves. We get caught up in what is best for our classes that we forget ourselves.
Do not take 18 credits and drown yourself in assignments that you forget to have fun in college. Or do not take classes every day for hours without giving yourself time to relax and watch YouTube videos.
Yes, college is about getting a degree but also about enjoying yourself and finding who you are.
